The Pumpkin Patch – Thursday 31st October

We are delighted to be bringing back The Pumpkin Patch for 2024 after its huge success and popularity in 2022 and 2023.

Tickets are £5 each, every child and adult entering the event must have a ticket, children under 2 go free and require no ticket for entry. Please note that no pumpkins are included with the entry ticket.

Booking tickets in advance is strongly advised as we cannot guarantee availability on the day.

VISITOR INFORMATION

  • Tickets are non-refundable or transferable to another day. If you cannot attend on the day you have booked you are welcome to pass your tickets on to friends and family who can enter the event with your booking reference – no need to let us know in advance.
  • The event runs 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st October. On 8th – 11th, 15th -18th, 22nd – 25th October visitors are welcome to visit the pumpkin fields and pick their own pumpkins without needing to book a ticket, but please note there will be no entertainment on these days.
  • In the event of Rectory Farm cancelling the day you are booked on, a full refund will be issued.
  • Dogs on leads are allowed in the cafe and play area but not allowed into The Pumpkin Patch event.
  • There will be no access to the PYO field or site without a ticket on event days. The shop, cafe and wooden play area will be open as usual for all visitors and ready picked pumpkins can be purchased here if preferred.
  • Wristbands will be issued to all visitors and inspected around the site.
  • We cannot guarantee that all varieties of pumpkin will be available for picking every day.
  • We have made every effort to grow quality pumpkins however we cannot guarantee that all pumpkins will last until the 31st October.
  • The ground will be wet and uneven, so we recommend wearing wellies and bringing weather-appropriate clothing.
  • The fields will not be closed on rainy days and tickets will not be transferable on account of the weather.
  • All children under the age of 16 must be closely supervised at all times.
  • Pumpkins are to be paid for in the farm shop or the outdoor payment huts before leaving the site. Cash and card payments accepted.
  • The ground is uneven in places on the farm which can make it difficult for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
  • Your ticket is valid for the whole day. First entry is at 9.30am and the event finishes daily at 5pm. Last entry is at 4pm and no refunds will be given to those arriving after this time. On Sundays, the event closes at 4pm with last entry at 3pm.
  • Our farm shop will be open from 9.30am – 5.30pm daily (café closes at 5pm daily and 4pm on Sundays).
  • In addition to our café offering (snacks, hot and cold lunches, hot and cold drinks) we will have a coffee van and food vendors on site close to the pumpkin fields, and some indoor and outdoor seating.
  • Please note that only food purchased on site can be consumed on site – no picnics, please.
  • We have ample parking on site; please be prepared for a ten minute walk from your parking space to the ticket entry.
  • Please bring strong carrier bags to take your pumpkins home in. We can otherwise provide lightweight plastic bags for 10p each.
  • Standard orange pumpkins and crown prince squashes will be charged at £1.20 / kg, reducing to £1 / kg if a single pumpkin is over 8kg in weight. Any other varieties charged at £2.50 / kg.
  • Tractor / trailer rides are included in ticket price but are weather dependent and are run at our discretion based on weather and ground conditions.
  • Our toilets are located close to the event hub, with additional toilet facilities in the play area behind the shop and café, and in the pumpkin field.
  • If a refund does need to be processed for any reason a £2 booking charge will be taken off to cover bank charges.

We sell all our own homegrown produce when in season - including several varieties of our own potatoes - picked and on the shelves within a few hours. We work hard to source the best quality local products from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and The Cotswolds. In our fridges you’ll find local meat, pies and sausage rolls from Eadles Farm in neighbouring Beckley village, chicken, lamb and beef from D'Oyley's Farm in Stadhampton, award-winning organic cheeses from Nettlebed Creamery, and traditional farmhouse Cotswold Butter – plus all manner of condiments and cooking sauces, baking supplies, biscuits, pantry essentials, free range eggs and milk from Oxfordshire farms and dairies. Our bread arrives each morning from Oxford’s Natural Bread Company and Degustibus artisan bakers in Abingdon.

PYO

The Rectory Farm picking season runs from April - October, starting with asparagus and finishing with pumpkins. 

Our strawberries ripen up at the start of May and finish into September. Check out our PYO page to see what's in season when, and for lots of recipe ideas.

Enjoy a day out at Rectory Farm picking all your favourite fruit and vegetables to take home and enjoy. Remember to bring your own punnets and carrier bags to help us reduce plastic use.

Visit the shop from March - December to stock up on kitchen essentials and all our ready-picked fruit and vegetables if you’re short on time.

Join us for coffee and locally baked pastries, a pot of tea and a slice of homemade cake or a cool ice-cream topped with a flake. 

We have both indoor seating and outdoor seating (covered and uncovered) and plenty of space for families and groups to gather and catch up over good food and drink.
