What’s on at Rectory Farm

Pick of the month

STRAWBERRIES

Pick your own strawberries for the freshest-tasting berries. The British strawberry season runs from May - September  - and picking your own makes the best of this time. Come visit us again and again during this period, bring your own punnets to fill and choose exactly what you like from our fields. Picking is quick and easy – and supremely satisfying!

We grow six different types of strawberry, ready at different times of the summer so you always have the best that we can offer. We grow almost all our strawberries on table-tops, this is easy picking and under polytunnels which means you can even pick when it rains. Our on the ground strawberries are usually ready in July.

If you’re pushed for time or don't want to pick your own, we sell freshly picked punnet of strawberries in our Farm Shop for a quick grab and go.

What’s on at Rectory Farm Pick Your Own

PYO Strawberries, Rhubarb & Gooseberries

Our Strawberry fields are now open for picking and our season continues until October, pick your own strawberries Tuesday- Sunday. Bring your own container to pick into for a discount and there is no need to book. Find our more about our PYO season here.

Visit us on a weekday from now until Friday 16th July and we’ll reward you with a free tea, coffee or freshly made milkshake from the Tractor Shack Cafe for every 1.4kg of strawberries you pick. Offer valid mornings only, from 9.30 – 11.30am.
That’s equivalent to 2 x regular sized punnets filled to the top, or 3 x regular sized punnets filled three quarters full (which we recommend to avoid mushy strawbs!)

This coming Open Farm Sunday 27th June we warmly invite you, your friends and your family to come behind-the-scenes at Rectory Farm, to learn more about some of the machinery we use here. This open display will take place at the farm yard (across the road from our PYO site – just park in the farm shop car park as usual and cross the road on foot) and there will be tractors, a potato harvester and a combine harvester on show!

To control numbers this is a ticketed event – but tickets are FREE. Click here to book your hour-long visit slot now, and why not make a day of it with lunch in the Tractor Shack Cafe and some fruit picking?

We have opened our pick your own rhubarb fields for the first time in a few years, we grow the Ruby Red variety which keeps its vibrant hue throughout cooking. Picking is easy – just pull a stem from the bottom and it should come right out.

At The Tractor Shack Café we sell freshly baked pastries, homemade cakes, Yarde Farm ice-cream, hot and cold drinks and delicious, farm-to-fork lunches. Our lunch menu is local and seasonal, placing our fabulous farm produce centre-stage. Lunch is served Tuesday – Sunday from 11.30am till 2.30pm.

At Rectory Farm Shop we sell all our own homegrown produce when in season – including several varieties of our own potatoes – picked and on the shelves within a few hours. We work hard to source the best quality local products from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and The Cotswolds. In our fridges you’ll find local meat, pies and sausage rolls from Eadles Farm in neighbouring Beckley village, award winning organic cheeses from Nettlebed Creamery, and traditional farmhouse Cotswold Butter – plus all manner of condiments and cooking sauces, baking supplies, biscuits, pantry essentials, free range eggs and milk. Our bread arrives each morning from Long Crendon Manor Bakery and Degustibus artisan bakers in Abingdon.
