Free Range Norfolk Bronze Whole Turkey
D’oyleys family farm in Stadhampton have been raising free-range Norfolk Bronze turkeys for the holidays for over 60 years. It’s what they are most well known for locally and they sell hundreds of birds for Christmas feasts around South Oxfordshire.
Their turkeys are slow-grown, living much longer than any supermarket bird. They arrive as day-olds on the farm and live in their pastures with the shelter of a barn to sleep in at night. They have grass underfoot and straw bales for perching and keeping watch. They are fed a natural diet that is supplemented by the plants and bugs they are able to forage on the farm.
The turkeys are dry-plucked by hand and hang them to develop the flavour. We recommend allowing 500g per person, plus a little more if you like to enjoy leftovers. All our turkeys are fresh.
£75.06 – £120.75
We aim for all our turkeys to sit in the middle of the range but occasionally we will have larger or smaller birds, please let us know in the comments if you are looking for a smaller bird in the range, we can then reduce the price at collection or add in a little free gift.
We sell all our own homegrown produce when in season - including several varieties of our own potatoes - picked and on the shelves within a few hours. We work hard to source the best quality local products from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and The Cotswolds. In our fridges you’ll find local meat, pies and sausage rolls from Eadles Farm in neighbouring Beckley village, award winning organic cheeses from Nettlebed Creamery, and traditional farmhouse Cotswold Butter – plus all manner of condiments and cooking sauces, baking supplies, biscuits, pantry essentials, free range eggs and milk. Our bread arrives each morning from Long Crendon Manor Bakery and Degustibus artisan bakers in Abingdon.
